Why is my Pit Boss not smoking?

It is common knowledge that the more smoke you get, the more flavorful your meat would be. Most of us have experienced the situation where you want to use your Pit Boss pellet grill smoker, but it produces little smoke or none at all.

It has happened to me severally, and so I know that this post will be useful to our readers. You can’t smoke meat without smoke.

The most common reasons why your Pit Boss pellet grill smoker isn’t smoking are issues with the temperature control, or the pellets or firepot you use. I have outlined six reasons why your Pit Boss may not be smoking, and for each reason, I have offered solutions to get your Pit Boss to smoke.

In this section, I’ll list the common reasons why your Pit Boss is not smoking and provide solutions you should apply to get more smoke out of your Pit Boss grill.

Why is my Pit Boss not smoking?

why is my pit boss not smoking

You want to see smoke from your Pit Boss pellet grill smoker in order to achieve that wonderful BBQ flavor in your food. If your Pit Boss isn’t smoking, follow the tips below to get more smoke from your Pit Boss.

DON’T MISS: Pit Boss special offer

Reason #1: You’re not using the ideal temperature for smoking

Your Pit Boss may not be smoking also if you cook at the wrong temperature.

Set your grill to between 60oF and 90oF (P4 setting) because you need low temperatures for more smoke from your grill.

For even more smoke, bring the temperature down to around 220oF.

Reason #2: Dampness in your wood pellets

If you’re trying to smoke meat using a Pit Boss pellet grill and notice that your Pit Boss is not smoking, the first things you should check are the wood pellets.

The wood pellets you use for smoking need to be completely dry in order for them to produce smoke.

The presence of water in wood pellets could be the reason why your Pit Boss doesn’t smoke. Swap the damp wood pellets for dry ones and try again or leave them to dry before using them.

Reason #3: Faulty hot rod ignitor

The hot rod ignitor is a crucial component of your Pit Boss grill that fires up the hardwood pellets without you using a lighter. Another job of the hot rod ignitor is to maintain the fire for the duration of your cooking.

This component is located at the bottom of your firepot. It works in a similar way to the ignitor in gas grills and stoves.

The issue with the hot rod ignitor is that it does not last forever. With use, it shows signs of wearing out sooner or later.

When this happens, your Pit Boss grill starts to produce less and less smoke until it gets to the point where your Pit Boss doesn’t smoke at all.

When this happens, you have to replace the hot rod ignitor. Thankfully, it’s pretty straightforward to do this. Purchase the hot rod ignitor kit from Amazon or the official Pit Boss website and follow the instructions below.

10 steps to replace hot rod ignitor kit in Pit Boss grill

Step 1: Take the Pit Boss grill away from all flammable objects and out of your home.

Step 2: Connect the grill to a power outlet.

Step 3: Get some dry wood pellets, and fill the hopper with these.

Step 4: Disassemble the cooking grates, top shelf, and flame broiler.

Step 5: Dispose of any ash left from the firepot.

Step 6: Next, put some pellets inside of the firepot and pour some cooking oil into it, and ignite the starter using a normal lighter.

Step 7: Allow the pellets to catch fire, and leave it for 5 minutes.

Step 8: While the pellets are burning, carefully replace the parts.

Step 9: Put your Pit Boss in the Smoke position.

Step 10: Set your Pit Boss grill to your preferred cooking temperature and leave it to heat up.

Reason #4: Damaged or incompatible extension cord

As surprising as it may sound, a major reason why your Pit Boss grill doesn’t smoke is that you may have simply forgotten to plug it into a power outlet. It could also be that you plugged in the grill to a power source that is incompatible with your Pit Boss.

You are almost certainly bound to forget to plug in your pellet grill if you are used to a charcoal grill. So, ensure that you do this.

If your grill is connected to a power outlet, ensure that this source is 110V rated.

Confirm that your extension cord is free from external and internal damages. Also, also test the power flow using a circuit tester to confirm that the outlet is grounded.

Make sure you replace the cord if you notice any tears on it. Grounding the outlet and replacing worn cords reduce the risk of electrical incidents.

Lastly, confirm that your outdoor extension cord has a minimum of 12/3 gauge and is compatible with a GFCI circuit.

Reason #5: Weak induction/combustion fan

The induction fan is another vital component of your pellet grill that also helps maintain the fire and circulate the smoke and heat for your cooking. With a weak induction fan, not only would your Pit Boss not produce (sufficient) smoke, but it would also not cook your food evenly.

Unlike the hot rod ignitor, however, the fan is designed to last for a long time without issue. However, it will get weak with time and use. In this case, you have to clean or replace the fan.

Step 1: Disconnect your pellet grill from the electricity source and remove the bottom place off the hopper.

Step 2: You will see the fan in the hopper. Using a dry material, clean the fan.

Step 3: Check if the fan can rotate easily. You can do this using a screwdriver or your finger. Ideally, it should rotate without you applying much force.

Step 4: Replace the fan if it is damaged.

  • Compatible with all Traeger grill mode and Pit Boss wood pellet grills (EXCEPT PTG)

Reason #6: Debris and ash in the firepot

Sometimes, if your Pit Boss is not smoking properly, some cleaning up can fix it. You won’t get a clean burn if the firepot contains too much ash from the last times you used it. The debris and ash blocks the airflow in the chamber and stops the grill from heating up.

With much ash blocking the airflow, and the grill not heating up sufficiently, you’ll inevitably notice that your Pit Boss is not smoking when you cook.

Top 5 best infrared grill under $500 to buy this 2022

Are you planning to buy an infrared grill and want to ensure that you are buying from the best brand? Then, you are in the right place since we will cover the best infrared grill under $500.

Other details covering infrared grills, such as the types of this grill as well as advantages and disadvantages of using this product, will also be covered. Don’t forget to check out the features to look at when choosing the best infrared grill under $500.

What are infrared grills?

Infrared grills use infrared energy to heat the metallic or ceramic surface at a high temperature. The grates of infrared grills operate on an infrared system, which generates heat. Infrared grills produce higher temperatures than convection or radiation technology.

If you want to achieve a higher temperature on the best infrared grill under $500, you will need more infrared energy. Other infrared grills have gas burners under the grates to improve the efficiency and heat production of the product.

However, if you don’t want to cook at a high temperature, you can pair our infrared grills with ceramic tiles instead of steel emitters.

How do infrared grills work compared to gas grills?

Traditional gas grills use a heating method called convection, where the heat rises from the propane burner and is transferred to the grill. The hot air will also circulate throughout the grill to cook the food inside.

Unlike gas grills, infrared grills do not heat the air around the meat. Instead, it directly heats the grates, which then heat the food. While traditional gas grills can’t exceed 600ºF, the best infrared grill under $500 can quickly heat your food up to 1600ºF.

Types of infrared grills

There are many types of infrared grills, but we have come up with the three most common ones to make our list more concise. The types of infrared grills listed below are classified based on their heating systems.

TEC System

TEC System is the name of the company that came up with this type of infrared grill. The company managed to build various models with different temperature ranges and capacities.

However, TEC System infrared grills are not as powerful as other types since they can only heat up to 350-850°F. Despite that, this type of grill ensures that the food is evenly cooked.

Heat Emitter System

Infrared grills that use a heat emitter system produce heat from the burners, which are made of stainless steel tubes that can only reach up to 650°F. The core of the heating system relies on the heat conduction mechanism for efficient heat transfer. The emitting panel receives the heat after the burners reach the ideal temperature for heat transfer.

Ceramic Burner System

Choose an infrared grill that uses a ceramic burner system if you want to cook using high temperatures and want the food to be ready in a short amount of time.

This is one of the best types of infrared grill if you are cooking seafood. However, the lack of versatility in the temperature ranges can also be its major disadvantage. This type of infrared grill can only heat up to 600-1000°F.

Traeger vs Z Grills: Whose pellet grills are better?

traeger vs zgrills
Traeger vs Z Grills: Who’s better?

Pellet grill brands are everywhere, and it can get hard to choose, so in this article, we’re going to look at the 2 most popular ones, Traeger vs Z Grills. We took a while in researching the grills, and Traeger came out on top. Unlike griddles, pellet grills take a little more into account.

Read on to find out why.

Overview of Z Grills Pellet Grills

Z Grills are a revolutionary addition to the pellet grills range. They have advanced wood-fire technology which gets you that smoky, wood-fired flavor without the inconvenience of gas or propane grills. You can cook with Z Grills for 20 hours per 20 pounds of pellets.

Z Grills

Their grills are amazingly versatile with a wide temperature range for all your grilling, smoking, roasting, baking, or BBQing needs. This range is from 180 to 450°F. Z Grills also designed their grills so it is easy to use, even if you’re new to grilling!

These pellet grills have a built-in, fan-forced convection system, which circulates the hot air throughout the grill for good airflow and even cooking. This gives you high-fuel cooking and efficiency.

Visit the linked page to compare all Zgrills products.

All their grills are stainless steel built, which gives them a high resistance to rust and corrosion. This allows you to have a long-lasting and good-looking grill. Most Z Grills models have leading PID technology that allows you to have ultimate temperature control.

Z Grills offer a 3-year warranty for your benefit too!

Z Grills models can have a grilling area of 19.2 x 26 inches and a total surface area of 700 square inches, giving you a lot of space for various foods.

What’s more, is that the Z Grills company has created a tight family where you can share your concerns and connect with avid grillers.

Overview of Traeger Pellet Grills

Having wood fire flavor without the wood fire sounds good, and that’s exactly what Traeger Pellet Grills provides. These grills were the blueprint for pellet grills, so it’s fair to claim that these grills have perfected the smoked grill technology.

Traeger Grills

Traeger grills require hardwood pellets that allow you to grill, smoke, bake, braise, roast, and BBQ food. You can execute various recipes, all at the same time with the power of the Traeger grill.

Traeger offers different flavored wood pellets for any and every type of food. This gives you so much creativity to really give your food that smoked flavor. Oak and mesquite wood pellets are perfect for veggies, wild game, and beef, while fruit woods have a more subtle flavor for pork, seafood, chicken, and baked items.

Unlike most pellet grills, Traeger grills use indirect heat to cook your food. When you push the button or turn a dial (depending on the model), the wood pellet hopper will feed the pellet into a fire pit at the bottom middle of the grill, which cooks your food evenly.

With Traeger grills, you just feed your pellets in, set your desired temperature, and leave it. ‘Set-it and Forget-it’ is actually their slogan!

Traeger grills provide ultimate temperature control, which gives you the opportunity to cook your food at precise temperatures. What’s attractive about this grill is that it has two meat probes that let you monitor your meat without letting that smokiness out. You can master your BBQing skills with the reliable Traeger.

Traeger also offers custom-fit covers for their pellet grills that protect them from all elements, from rain to snow and the strong rays of the sun. They fit perfectly and are secure to keep the elements out. This company also offers a 3-year warranty.

Now, let’s look at how you should go about choosing Z Grills or Traeger.

Traeger vs Z Grills: Temperature Control

In the fight of Traeger vs Z Grills, temperature control is an important part. When choosing between Z Grills or Traeger, you want a grill that cooks your food without burning! Precise temperatures are key in making great food for your family.

Z Grills

Temperature control depends on the material and construction of the pellet grill. These two aspects determine how the grill retains heat and how it distributes it when you cook. The dial where you control heat is also important, as small increments are important too! This plays a part in precision.

Z Grills can be set to 25°F increments, which is good, but Traeger can be set in 15°F increments. So Traeger takes the cake in that aspect. However, Z Grills can be maxed out to 450°F, compared to Traeger pellet grills, which usually range between 180-400°F.

Traeger grills hardly have any complaints of the retention of heat. The grill has two stainless steel layers which is the insulation in the cooking chamber. Although the increments are only 10°F apart, it actually makes a big difference, therefore, Trager grills provide better temperature control.

Traeger vs Z Grills: Cooking performance

Both grills put out a good performance when it comes to cooking, grilling, and even baking. Most pellet grills don’t go over 500°F because the firepot is covered with a heat shield. They cannot match the performance of a charcoal grill, for example.

Most Traeger grills and Z Grills can reach high temperatures, contributing to good cooking performance. However, Traeger has a high-quality cooking chamber constriction and insulation, paired with better control over the temperature too.

So, you get a better experience cooking with the Traeger grill.

Traeger vs Z Grills: Weight and hopper capacity

Traeger is about 103 pounds, whereas the Z Grills are a bit heavier at 113 pounds. Of course, this weight will vary according to the range of grills you buy.

Both brands have a wide range of sizes, so the pellet hopper sizes will vary to match the size of the grill.

Z Grills’ hopper can hold about 20 pounds of pellets each time. This is an exception of the series called L6002, which can hold 8 pounds of pellets. Traegers can hold 18 to 24 pellets on their largest grills.

This means that you get about 1 hour of cook time per pound of pellets. With either grill, you’re able to do slow cooking without a hassle. Z Grills doesn’t have a big pellet system, which means you’re going to have to scoop unused pellets for safekeeping.

Traegers does have a small door to empty pellets, but you still have to do scooping to get all of them out. This is just a part of using a pellet grill.

So, Z Grills and Traeger are pretty much the same in the hopper capacity.

Traeger vs Z Grills: Pricing

Traeger and Z Grills come from two different prices. Z Grills are much more affordable than Traeger. The smaller models of Z Grills start at $400, while their bigger models come at $900, paired with an insulating cover.

Traeger grills start at $800 for its main range. This is a smaller grill with fewer features. Higher up on the list, with all the best features and size, you’re looking at $2000 or so.

If you’re on a budget, Z Grills is a better choice. However, you will get a lot more with a Traeger if you have the dollars to spare.

Verdict: Z Grills

Traeger vs Z Grills: Warranty

Both are more or less the same in this aspect of the Traeger vs Z Grills fight. They both come with a 3-year warranty and have a good reputation among consumers with impeccable service. None of them are known to give any problems.

Z Grills provides a 30-day money-back guarantee when you buy directly through their official website. If it’s your first time buying a pellet grill, then you’d find comfort in this guarantee.

Both grills have the same timeframe for warranties, however, the money-back guarantee given by Z Grills is definitely attractive.

Verdict: Z Grills

Traeger vs Z Grills: Cooking area

Both grills have a good size of cooking area. It depends on what you want out of a pellet grill.

Z Grills’ smallest grill is about 452 inches, which is split over 2 grates. The mid-sized is about 700 square inches, and their largest is 1060 square inches over 3 tiers. This is a good cooking area for the price you pay.

Traeger grills give you more choice in terms of the cooking area. Unlike Z Grills, whose size changes with the different models, Traeger’s larger grills are only available in the higher-end ranges. So, if you’re on a budget, Traeger is not the first choice!

With Traeger, their larger grills are 1300 square inches over 3 grates. Although it may be expensive, you’re paying for the extra features it comes with, apart from the cooking area. It’s an up if you can buy it.

Verdict: Draw – Z Grills or Traeger.

Traeger vs Z Grills overall winner

Now, it’s time to declare a winner!

Z Grills is a great pellet grill as it provides good features at a low price. They’re reliable, solid, and have consistent results each time you’re responsible for the food! The basics are definitely there.

However, if you’re looking for WIFI and other features, you’re looking at Traeger. Their grills provide full control from your phone, which allows you to cook your food with the click of a button. They also have other nice-to-have features.

Traeger grills also consume fewer wood pellets because they retain heat better than Z Grills. They have good quality powder-coated steel, which is very durable. Stainless steel parts and components can be found in both grills, though.

And in the case of Traeger vs Z Grills

Traeger Grills win!

Traeger takes the cake! The price is well worth it because they take extra care and really pay attention to small details in the construction of their grills.

However, you get a wood-fired flavor and grilled goodness with both grills. So, if you’re on a budget, you’d be satisfied with Z Grills too.

This grill has a superior temperature range and smoking abilities and is worth the hype it creates. The design is definitely a great patio add, providing an aesthetic appeal while making you a pro griller. However, it is a bit pricey.

What we liked:

  • The grill can smoke, grill and bake. A very attractive feature!
  • It has WIFI abilities which are convenient and reliable. You can control the temperature and how your food cooks from your phone.
  • Your flavors remain even and soaked in the food.
  • Easy to clean and switch pellets.

What we didn’t like:

  • It’s quite pricey if you’re on a budget.
  • It takes a while to heat up, so it’s not suited for quick grilling.

This is a smaller size, however, it does not provide WIFI capability. This grill has a seahorse design, making it steadier than the general straight-legged designs.

What we like:

  • There was a lot of thought gone into the design and construction, which is apparent.
  • Great price for the size of the grill.
  • There is a big enough cooking area.
  • Excellent temperature control.

What we didn’t like:

  • You need electricity to operate it. This is not particularly beneficial if you’re not near a power outlet in the outdoors.
  • The grill only has 2 wheels, yikes!

There is a clear divide between the Z Grills and Traeger grills. Z Grills are more of a budget option. However, some models of the Z Grills also have WIFI and features of PID.

Traeger is widely preferred because they have cool features such as PID and WIFI inclusions. So, it’s worth the price you pay.

Cook frozen burgers? 3 Guide for Grilling Frozen Burgers

Throwing some burgers on the grills spells a great lunch. Even frozen burgers can be grilled without being thawed, as you still get that juicy, flavorful smoky taste that is to die for. Whether you grill frozen burgers with charcoal or gas, you still get to taste a juicy burger.

Wondering how to cook frozen burgers? You’ve come to the right place!

Can You Cook Frozen Burgers on the Grill?

Yes, you can cook frozen burgers on the grill!

Frozen burgers can be cooked straight from the freezer without losing much flavor. You can grill frozen burgers on any type of grill, from gas to charcoal or wood pellet powered grills.

If you have a bit of time before ‘burger time,’ you can leave the frozen burgers in the fridge before grilling. However, if you don’t have any time or fridge space, you can grill the frozen patties. This will take slightly longer, though.

You should keep the grill temperature at medium-high or lower, depending on how powerful your grill is. If you got your grill too high, it will cook the outside of the burger and leave the inside too raw. Your grill can also be different levels of heat, so move the burgers around too.

Do You Need to Season Frozen Burgers?

Frozen patties have a lot of flavors, like your freshly made mutton, chicken, or beef burgers. However, since they’re ready-made, you won’t be able to get the flavor inside the burger patty. So, you must season your frozen burgers and add toppings to create a delicious, unforgettable burger.

Seasoning isn’t hard, as you only need kosher salt and black pepper. A classic combo that never gets old!

Add the black pepper and kosher salt as you start grilling frozen burgers on a gas grill. If you like, you can add a pinch of onion, garlic, or chili powder for an extra kick. Make sure to cover both sides of the patty with your seasonings.

You can add a slice of cheese to your burger while grilling for that extra pizazz. This gives them extra fat and juiciness. Add your cheese just before the burgers are done grilling, so it melts over the patty. You can choose sharp cheddar or white cheddar if you want a prominent taste or American cheese for something milder.

You can also add homemade BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, or Italian dressing.

What Supplies Do I Need for Grilling Frozen Burgers?

You need:

You can easily find these items on the Amazon store.

You’re going to need:

  • Your burgers, of course!
  • Hamburger buns
  • Toppings of your choice
  • Salt and pepper

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 22 minutes

How to Prepare Frozen Burgers for Grilling

Cook frozen burgers to perfection!

While your grill heats up, you can prepare your frozen burgers for grilling.

Separate your frozen patties if they are stuck together. You can use a blunt knife or a small spatula (like the ones you use to ice cakes) into the gap between two patties. Be careful not to break them or hurt yourself. You shouldn’t use a sharp knife as it may cut you or cut the burger.

If there is wax paper in between the patties, run some cold water over it so you can peel it off neatly. Don’t rip the paper as you risk leaving a bit behind, which can spoil your burger. Wash your hands after handling your burgers to avoid food contamination.

Gather your spices and head outside!

*Prepare for flare-ups too! You can avoid them by spraying water on the flare-ups, so they die down quickly.

Instructions for Grilling Frozen Burgers

Now it’s time to grill. If you’re grilling frozen burgers on gas grill or charcoal, make sure you preheated it at 350ºF for at least 15 minutes.

Step 1: Place Burgers on the Grill

Oil your grates so the burgers don’t get stuck and become mushy. Once your grill is sizzling, add your burgers.

Step 2: Keep the Heat Low and Constant so the Burgers Cook

Use your spatula to flip the burgers every 3 to 5 minutes. This will ensure even cooking on both sides of the patty. You’d hear the satisfying sizzling sound and the smoke from the burger. Grilling frozen burgers with charcoal will give your burgers a real smoked taste.

Add your seasoning when the burger is thawed. This will allow your seasonings to stick to the burger.

Let your burgers cook for about 15 to 20 minutes. Move the patties around the grill cooking area as some sections are hotter than others. This will allow you to cook frozen burgers evenly.

Whether you have a charcoal or gas grill, you can leave the grill uncovered to get a lovely char outside your burger without an overcooked center.

A closed grill will give you even doneness. It depends on your preference, but just make sure that the burger is cooked.

Add any sauce or cheese before you take the burgers off the grill.

Step 3: Serve

Test the internal temperature of your burgers before taking them off the grill. They should have a 160°F internal temperature. If you like, you can quickly grill your buns too for that crispy goodness.

Let the burger cool for 2 minutes before making your burger. Assemble with onion, lettuce, and fries on the side. Yum!

Mistakes to Avoid

Don’t cook your burgers at very high heat as the outside will get cooked while the middle will be raw. When you cook frozen burgers, it thaws as it’s grilling. You shouldn’t eat your burger if it’s still pink in the middle.

Unlike your cuts of steak, frozen burgers cannot be eaten medium rare! You might put yourself at the risk of getting food poisoning.

Your burgers should cook until they are a beautiful brown and have an internal temperature of 160ºF. Although tempting, don’t press down the burgers as they’re grilling. This common mistake will let all the good juices escape, leaving you with a dry patty.

If you’re grilling frozen burgers with charcoal, you must be careful of flare-ups. Since frozen burgers will release more water and fat into the flame, you may experience a sudden burst of flame. Be quick with the spatula to move them away!

Don’t add your seasoning while your burger is frozen. It will just roll out like a landslide. Let your burger thaw for about 2 minutes before adding your seasonings.

How Long Do You Cook Frozen Burgers on the Grill?

There isn’t an exact time as grills will always vary slightly. Grilling frozen burgers on a gas grill may be faster than grilling frozen burgers with charcoal. The timing also varies on the thickness and size of your patties.

In general, you should rotate your burger patties every 3 to 4 minutes and flip about 3 times. This gives you an average cooking time of 20 to 22 minutes. However, you should use your discretion and a thermometer to check its internal temperature, which should be at 160°F.

What’s the Best Way to Cook Frozen Hamburger Patties?

One of the best ways to cook frozen burgers (except grilling) is on a flat pan on medium-high heat. Let the pan heat for five minutes before cooking the frozen burgers. Add a teaspoon of cooking oil to the pan and let it heat up. Place your burgers in the pan and leave space in between.

Let them fry for 6 to 7 minutes on each side, and add any seasonings of your choice. Flip the burgers with your handy spatula. Check if it’s cooked all the way through. You can add a slice of cheese to the burger.

Put your cooked burgers on a paper towel so they can drain any extra oil. Let them cool before making your hamburger.

How do electric smokers work?

best electric smoker under $300
Pit Boss Grills Electric Smoker

While some smokers use wood pellets, propane, or charcoal to heat up, electric smokers use electricity for cooking meat. This type of smoker has a thermostat that controls temperatures.

An electric smoker works by producing heat from the steam conducted throughout the cooker. When combined with smoke, the steam will help moisten the texture and boost the flavor of the meat.

When you smoke meet in an electric smoker, inside the cooking chamber is where the air circulates. This allows the steam and smoke to coat the meat evenly.

A water tray is also included, which prevents the meat from drying too much. Some units have a drip pan or grease tray to catch the drippings for easier cleaning.

What should I look for when buying an electric smoker under $300?

You can always find electric smokers under $300. But before securing a purchase, make sure you keep the following features in mind:

Capacity and size

Always ensure that you know how big or small your smoker will be because this will indicate how much food you can cook with it at once. Consider what food you are going to cook often. Do you like cooking whole turkeys or large pork cutlets?

Then opt for smokers suitable for cooking large portions of meat like a whole chicken or turkey like the Masterbuild Digital Electric Smoker. Otherwise, get the smaller ones such as the Smokehouse Big Chief Electric Smoker if you aim to cook small items like fish fillets.

Temperature control

Most electric smokers have electrical cords that control how hot the appliance can get while holding the heat steadily. Some temperature gauges can only indicate “high” or “low,” while some have controls that you need to calibrate manually for more specific settings. There are also electric smokers that come with meat probes like the Pit Boss Grills Electric Smoker, which is a nice addition to the product.

Quality and design

You must also consider the quality and design of the product if you are looking for the best electric smoker under $300. Figure out the efficiency of the smoker, which should range from 75 to 100 BTUs per square inch of heating surface.

You will also find smokers that come with analog or digital temperature control that lets you adjust and monitor the temperature, smoke, and heat level of the food manually or automatically.

Brand reputation

One of the best ways to check the smoker’s quality is by checking the brand’s reputation. Please pay attention to the brand’s reputation regarding customer service. Warranty is also an important thing to inquire about.

Typically, more extended warranties may guarantee longer-lasting products made with quality materials. Read our brand comparisons so you can have a better idea of which brand manufactures better products.
